ACP Magazines Shed More Staff

10 Jun 2009

PBL Media’s ACP Magazines have continued to shed staff in both their editorial and retail sales divisions following closures and consolidation of magazines in their stable.

As reported in last weeks Publishing Edge, 4 staff members left with the closure of Slimming & Health and another two positions have been lost with the closure of NetGuide magazine which is to be consolidated in to PC Australia as of the September edition. Whilst there have been cuts to the retail sales division it is not known by how many.

One of the more high profile departures is that of Louisa Hatfield after more than ten years as editorial director working on titles such as Woman’s Day, Take Five, NW and TV Week. These titles average sales of more than one million copies a week, have a readership of more than 4.3 million people with approximately $78 million in advertising revenue in the year to April, according to Nielsen estimates, as reported in The Australian.

Following these departures there has been significant re-shuffling within the ranks. As reported in AdNews, Zara Curtis has returned from maternity leave to take on the role of director of ad sales for the women's lifestyle division. Lynette Phillips, who was previously in this role has been promoted to group publishing & sales director, women's lifestyle and Pat Ingram, who was chief publishing executive of the women's lifestyle group is now group editorial director. Grazia editor in chief Alison Veness-McGourty has also been promoted to editorial director of Harpers Bazaar.
