Online Measurement Currency Tender Attracts Global Interest

13 Oct 2010

The search for a research company to devise an online measurement currency has attracted interest from 21 companies, including 15 from Australia.

The Interactive Advertising Bureau Australia (IAB) announced that fifteen of the vendor companies to register their interest in the tender are Australian companies or Australian offices for international brands, while the remaining six have offices located in Canada, Israel, India, UK or US.

The IAB announced the Online Audience Measurement (OAM) Services tender last month. The 21 companies, including The Nielsen Company, will now have until 17th December 2010 to submit their responses.

A specially convened Technical Review Group chaired by Ian Muir will review all submissions, with a decision expected to be made during the first half of 2011.

As reported in AdNews, Chief executive of IAB Australia, Paul Fisher, said: "To have such a strong and quick response from a veritable united nations of OAM suppliers vindicates our decision and timing to issue the tender process.

"We are delighted by the range of organisations that have registered their interest in the tender and look forward to receiving and reviewing their submissions later this year."
